Elm School Nursery is located in the Elm Family and Children’s Centre next to the school.

The nursery is registered with and inspected by Ofsted, in accordance with the Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage. Although the nursery is led and managed by the Headteacher and Governors of Elm Church of England Primary school, it is part of the ‘Private, Voluntary and Independent’ sector.

The nursery takes children from the term after their third birthday until they reach school age, and also has a small number of places for two year olds. Parents may use their 15 hours of funded early years education with us, and may also opt to pay for additional sessions. We also accept two year olds with funded places (‘free twos’) and fee paying two year olds. A maximum of 24 children can attend each session, morning or afternoon, and children may bring a packed lunch if they are staying for the whole day. Children can also join our Breakfast Club from 8.00 a.m. onwards for a small fee.

We are open in school term time only and take the same closure days for staff training as the school. Administration is carried out by the school office, which is also only open in term time.

There is more information in our Nursery Information Booklet, which you can read by following the link on the right hand side of this page.

We are now taking bookings for all future terms. If you are interested in putting your child’s name down for a place at Elm School Nursery please contact the main school office. Please note that attending our nursery does not guarantee a place for your child at Elm School, as the school Admissions Policy still applies.

In February 2013 Ofsted rated our nursery as good in all areas of our work, highlighting that ‘Skilled staff provide a stimulating environment where children are enthusiastic to investigate, learn and have fun.’   Ofsted Report 2013
