Welcome to Elm C of E Primary Academy Governor Pages

The Governing Body consists of 17 Members, with varying skill sets, as follows:
* Headteacher
* 1 Staff Governor (a member of Staff representing all Staff, elected by the Staff)
* 3 Foundation Governors (representing and selected by the Church)
* 1 Local Authority Governor (selected by the Local Authority)
* 4 Parent Governors (elected by the Parents)
* 7 Community Governors (can be anybody, i.e. Parent of a child, Member of the general public, Staff-member and elected by the Governing Body after identifying specific skill sets).

The full Governing Body meets twice-termly, 6 times a year. In addition, there are two main sub-committees which all Governors, with the exception of Rev. Dawn Mason, are required to serve on at least one. These sub-committees each meet 4 times a year on average.

Governors also take on other specific roles. The election of the Governing Body, including Chair and Vice-Chair, takes place annually, in the Autumn Term, at the first Full Governor’s Meeting.

The Governors are assisted in their task by utilising professional advice from the Local Authority, the extremely dedicated Mrs Jellis who acts as Clerk to the Governors, and the Staff of the School.
